Notes on the Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs Recipe, Tips and Tricks
Pressure cooking makes the eggs super easy to peel. To peel, just tap an egg on the counter a few times and then roll gently to break the shell further. Pry away a bit of shell and then peel away. The shell should just slide off in large chunks. No more fussing with tiny bits of eggshells and dented-looking eggs.
Check out the gorgeous yolks. They are perfectly centered. Pressure cooking aligns the yolks in the center automatically. It’s magical! 🙂
Don’t skip chilling the eggs in ice water. It stops the cooking process and prevents the grayish green ring around the yolks common with overcooked eggs. No more unappetizing-looking eggs! Yeah!
I am using the 8 Quart Instant Pot DUO along with the Oxo egg rack which holds 9 eggs. This egg rack fits in the 6 quart and 8 quart Instant Pots.
If you don’t have an egg rack use the steam rack (trivet) that came with your Instant Pot. You won’t be able to make as many eggs but it works just as well.
